Gmail, the official Android email app from Google is a complete application and is highly recommended for every Gmail user. By default, this application is available on all Android devices. Gmail app for Android really help you in reading and writing e-mail from your Android device. The design is attractive but still simple, easy to use, has the instant notification ability, very light does not sacrifice your Android device resources, and is capable of supporting many different Gmail accounts.

You can find most of Gmail web version capabilities in Gmail for Android application. Perhaps the main advantage that Gmail application has is, you can check email anytime even when you are outdoors. You do not need to go home only just to reply to the email from your coworkers. Although writing an email from your phone or tablet may not be ideal, but at the time of an emergency, the Gmail application would greatly help your work much easier.

At the time this article was written, Google has released the Android version 5.0 Lollipop. In the Android version of Lollipop, Google Gmail for Android get updated new design with a new look and inbox improvements that makes it easier to use.

A new compose button is now located right at the bottom right of your screen, so you can jump to the menu to write a new email quickly. There is also a new button at the bottom of every email so that when you finish reading the message, you have quick access to reply.

Perhaps the biggest change of the latest Gmail is the ability to add email accounts from other services. Now you will be able to add either IMAP or POP account such as Yahoo Mail, along with your Outlook.com email address, right inside the app. Previously, you could add the account to your Android phone via a third-party email applications instead of Gmail application. This new capability can reduce the number of applications you need to check email from your Android device.
